One long weekend, a boat load of OSB and 1000 screws equals one new studio for Liquor , a company that specialises in hand pulled, water based screen printing. Now up and running in the OSB box, here are a few quick snaps of our hard work!
“Those were the last days of disco, Those were the last days of having fun, From New York City all the way to Frisco, We thought it’d only just begun”
A surprisingly modern addition transforms an 1880’s bungalow in Adelaide, Australia, into a spacious and sensuous abode. Beautiful!
I have an affinity for natural and raw materials at the minute and for a an office fit-out I am currently working on I am looking at reproducing some of these elements. I think they will look great with a splash of contemporary furniture and lighting against them! Although I am struggling to locate a supplier of reclaimed wood like this in the UK.
I stumbled across an amazing website of beautiful items yesterday, they are a company based in New York. I need to find out if they deliver to the UK, here are a couple of my favourite pieces!
So this morning I received an email to inform me that I have won the Brightest Spark competition from this years Interior Design graduates. I am so pleased with this, it means my work will be going to a third exhibition in October with the winners and runner ups from each creative course at Sheffield Hallam University.
“Sheffield Institute of Arts Gallery, Cantor Building, Sheffield, 8-26 October 2012.
The best of Creative Spark as judged by industry professionals, this exhibition showcases the top students on each creative course. If you enjoy Creative Spark – You’ll love Brightest Spark!”
We Like Rob’s first episode of 6 Seeds was released last night – check it out, I am sure you will find it as funny as I did! It is written by and stars Charles Hopkins, the brother of a good friend of mine down under (she cameos in the promo vid!).

Well, Creative Spark’s opening evening is over and it was great! I was so overwhelmed initially with so many people looking at my project, but overall it seemed to get a great response. One of the funniest moments was my Tutor describing my project and design to the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor John Campbell. Apparently he was interested in my proposal to re-instate the currently dilapidated old head post office! I couldn’t look or listen and made a sharp exit to the other side of the studio..
10 hours until Creative Spark opens its doors, I still have to mount my work and set it all up in the studio yet. Feeling very nervous at the minute!
Only two days until the opening night of Creative Spark at Sheffield Hallam University. My graduation project will be part of the display, although there is still lots of mounting and sorting to do before the big night! Should be worth it, if only for the open bar..
